About This Recipe

I can always tell what's going to happen when I smell overripe bananas on the counter. Yes, it's time for my go-to comfort food: this recipe for chocolate banana bread. Something about the combination of sweet, caramel-like bananas and rich cocoa flavor strikes the perfect balance between being comforting, chocolaty, and decadent enough.

I started making this during a cold, rainy week when Sultan and I were both stuck indoors. This easy chocolate banana bread recipe was created because we were craving something sweet but not overly dense. It's one of our weekend staples now, and in my opinion, it's best enjoyed with warm coffee and cozy socks. Secret Tips

Use really ripe bananas — brown and spotty is best for that deep banana flavor.
Don’t overmix the batter. For the softest texture, simply stir until everything is combined.
Let it rest after baking for 10–15 minutes before slicing — it’s worth the wait.
Toss your chocolate chips in a little flour before mixing in to prevent sinking.
